Tile Installation

Good tile work is all in the details: a flat, solid surface, a layout that looks balanced from every angle, consistent grout lines and clean cuts around every corner and fixture.

Overview

Tile Installation done with care

Tile is one of the most beautiful and long-lasting finishes you can put in a home or business — and one of the least forgiving to install. Most of the work that makes tile look right happens before the first piece is set: preparing the surface, finding the center lines and planning the layout so you are not left with thin slivers at a wall or doorway.

Large-format tile, small mosaics, patterned layouts and accent walls each need a different approach. We talk through the tile you have chosen (or are still choosing), how it will be laid out and how the edges will be finished, so you know what the finished space will look like before work begins.

Why it matters

  • Layouts planned to avoid awkward cuts and slivers
  • Consistent, straight grout lines
  • Clean cuts around outlets, fixtures, corners and edges
  • Finished edges that look intentional, not improvised

Tell us about the tile you have chosen. Size, material and pattern all affect the layout and installation, so we will talk it through with you when we discuss your estimate.

Can you help me decide on a layout pattern?

Yes, we are happy to talk through options such as a straight lay, offset, herringbone or vertical stack and how each would look in your space.
